Blue Holly & Gold Berries

Card-A-Day (34)
Ok, I have been a little crazy with colors this Christmas, so I figured why stop now???
Here is how I made this one:
  1. Layer strip of scrapbook plaid paper over teal cardstock - Distress edge of teal cardstock
  2. Repeat layering & distressing on white cardstock
  3. Layer on card front
  4. Stamp holly leaves & berries then emboss with white embossing powder
  5. Stamp & emboss 'love' and trim around image
  6. Rub clear embossing ink onto white cardstock, cover with white embossing powder, tap off excess & heat
  7. Repeat step 6 at least 3 times until you have a nice thick layer of white embossing
  8. Just prior to the final step of embossing, ink the holly leaf with clear embossing ink (I used versamark) and immediately after heating the final time, stamp to make the reverse impression in the thick coat of embossing powder
  9. Cut around embossed image
  10. Attach ribbon & decorative thread to card front
  11. Attach stamped images (using foam tape to adhere the embossed holly leaf)
  12. Punch holes for brads, attach gold brad in every other hole
  13. Heat surface of brad to be embossed with heat gun, place gently in embossing powder, tap off excess and heat to get a light coat of embossing
  14. Attach embossed brads
  15. DONE
